Knowledge management

Data structure, style and categorisation are critical to successful knowledge management. The Knowledge Exchange provides expertise in a range of strategies and practices used to organise, identify, create, represent, distribute and enable the adoption of best practice, insights and experiences.

We can help gather, organise and provide support on how to utilise this knowledge either embedded in organisations, processes or practices.

Expert advice is on hand from our highly qualified staff on how best gather and structure your data, whether for internal database purposes or for web publishing. High-quality information is only appropriate if it can be accessed and drilled into appropriately and we often undertake data analysis exercises on behalf of clients to recommend the most meaningful metadata and search criteria for their project needs.

Fundamental to our approach is a focus on organisational objectives, such as improving performance, reducing costs, innovation, sharing of best practice and learning from one another.

Our team can help you repurpose and maintain existing databases more effectively or sculpt new directories through the design and implementation of taxonomies and application of metadata.

We can help you:

  • Establish your key knowledge goals
  • Identify sources of knowledge, internally and externally
  • Help you organise and structure your information and intelligence needs
  • Establish data definitions and standards
  • Define your information architecture and metadata
  • Design and develop taxonomies
  • Re-purpose and keyword existing data
  • Design systems which engage the user in knowledge sharing and creation
